Talents
savant
The Smart hero gets to add a bonus equal to his or her Smart level when making checks with that skill. A Smart hero can take this talent multiple times; each time it applies to a different skill. [Computer Use]

fast talk
The Charismatic hero has a way with words when attempting to con and deceive. With this talent, he or she applies his or her Charismatic level as a competence bonus on any Bluff, Diplomacy, or Gamble checks the hero makes while attempting to lie, cheat, or otherwise bend the truth.

smart defense
A Field Scientist applies his or her Intelligence bonus and his or her Dexterity bonus to his or her Defense. Any situation that would deny the Field Scientist his or her Dexterity bonus to Defense also denies the Intelligence bonus.
scientific improvisation
At 2nd level, a Field Scientist gains the ability to improvise solutions using common objects and scientific know-how. This ability lets the Field Scientist create objects in a dramatic situation quickly and cheaply, but that have a limited duration.

By spending 1 action point and combining common objects with a Craft check that corresponds to the function desired, the Field Scientist can build a tool or device to deal with any situation. The DC for the Craft check is equal to 5 + the purchase DC of the object that most closely matches the desired function.

Only objects that can normally be used more than once can be improvised.

Electronic devices, special tools, weapons, mechanical devices, and more can be built with scientific improvisation. It takes a full-round action to make an object with scientific improvisation. The object, when put into use, lasts for a number of rounds equal to the Field Scientist’s class level, or until the end of the current encounter, before it breaks down. It can’t be repaired.

Character's Full Name: Darcy Lewis

Character's Starting Level: F-ive?
Character Age: 26... ish? She would have been around 25 during the first film and it’s two years between that and Dark World so 26/27.

Physical Description: Petite (5ft5) with curves and long, dark, wavy hair. Darcy’s the sort that opts for comfort over trendsetting. Usually seen in jeans, coats, hats and scarves, over dresses or skirts. Often seen wearing glasses, unless she ditches them for contacts or just... dealing with the world being blurry. As you do when you’re Darcy.

Character's Species/Race (aka human, elf, dragonblood human, etc): Human

Please explain, in as much detail as possible, how your character's canon world will be AUed to be set in this universe: Ea-si-ly? Cause... everybody else already did the work for us... I feel like I should be writing something really in depth here but the mechanics have been put in place so that it’s just the matter of, playing Darcy so that she’s well aware of all things Magic and Shadowkind etc.

Given how easily she accepted the existence of Thor, aliens and everything else they faced throughout the two movies? It would be an acceptable leap to believe that Darcy isn't overly ruffled by such things. She'd be fascinated by the magic aspect of the world, even if she has no abilities of her own and would react to various shadowkind, much in the way she did to Thor. Arguably, given it's part of her world, she'd be even more accepting of the different races living on Earth.

Character AU History (be detailed!): Everything in Darcy’s life happened as per canon, including Thor (The Movie). Where it deviates is that instead of The Avengers & Thor 2, the Thor and Loki mission has taken place. So she went to Culver University, took an Intern position with Jane to get the last six credits for her degree. Tased a 'god'. The usual.

It's known from canon that Darcy continues on as Jane's unpaid Intern after the events that happen in New Mexico but as to whether she and Jane moved to London before their entry into KoL would still need to be ironed out. As that's all time in between the movies, it wouldn't be hard to hammer down a clear entry point, anywhere along her timeline, that matches with Jane and what's already established.

Chosen "Canon" Point: Post Thor 2 if I understand the AU timeline right? In terms of where she’d be at in development, it would be more like the Prelude to Thor 2 however cause she hasn’t been through all the crazy that is Dark World.

Personality and Psychology: While she could easily be dismissed as the rambling, almost dim-seeming offsider who is merely there as the comic relief and to provide an outlet for the science speak to be dumbed down for the audience, Darcy has been shown to be an invaluable member of the group and a character with far greater depth than her witty one liners will often suggest.

She has a remarkable ability to adapt to any situation she gets thrown into. She might insist she’s not going to die for 6 credits, or science but she doesn’t walk away either. When Jane disappears (after being taken to Asgard), she doesn’t sit around and wait for her return. She’s proactive in finding solutions, no matter how out of her depth she is. She is shown to be loyal and while you couldn’t go so far as to call her fearless. Her inherent bravery allows her to overcome those fears.

Darcy might be an unlikely research assistant for two Astrophysicists who probably have more degrees between them than Darcy has had serious relationships, it’s the fact that she’s not scientifically minded that makes her such an asset. She doesn’t see the world in facts and figures that machines spit out. Her seemingly simple approach to problem solving and keen observation skills has often aided her and her colleagues in getting the answers they seek; Darcy the first to notice the anomaly in Thor.

Far from stupid, she does have a degree in Political Science and we see in the time between Thor 1 and 2, that despite an early inability to understand all of the scientific jargon. Darcy has learned a great deal since, even shown to have picked up some hacking skills during the Prelude to Dark World.

With a playful side that borders on childish, she's the first to want to join the kids in throwing objects into the portal but again, it’s perhaps this childish immaturity we see in her sometimes, that allows Darcy to see what others do not. Most people grow up and see through the silly things a child once noticed. Darcy seems to have never really lost that. She's the one who will take the time to appreciate the crazy that surrounds her. The one who'll stop and smell the flowers, or just marvel at Thor being an Asgardian badass.

She has a dry, sarcastic wit and a tendency to speak her mind when others (often Jane) wish that she wouldn’t and she has an uncanny knack for interrupting people at the worst possible moment. Again. Usually Jane. In the middle of dates or confessions of love. As you do. She contrasts beautifully with Jane, whose thirst for knowledge and understanding will lead her to ask the scientific questions leaving Darcy to deal with the important matters, such as how any one man can eat an entire box of poptarts and still be hungry.

One thing to be said for Darcy is that you generally know where you stand with her. If she’s attracted to you, she’s likely told you. If she thinks you’re an ass?(Or a drunken, beefcake homeless man). She’s probably tasered you. She telegraphs her more obvious emotions in physical and vocal ways, but we have yet to see her deal with the gravity of the situations that she has faced at Jane’s side. This doesn’t suggest she’s two dimensional or incapable of deep thought, but rather that she’s somebody who doesn’t feel the need or desire to show that side of herself to others. Her use of sarcasm and humor is something of a shield that offers a layer of protection against those deeper emotions until she has time to fully process them.

Powers and Abilities: Her witty retorts. The Sarcastic Defense. She’s gotten pretty handy with a computer and has a knack for seeing what others don’t, purely because she approaches it from a different angle. Handy with a Taser. Knows CPR. Plus there’s that whole, Poli Sci degree she got that she does... basically nothing with.
